Map Design

To celebrate the grand opening of their new flagship store in Denver, Patagonia wanted to create a hyper-local pocket guide to the city and beyond.

While at The Made Shop, I was given responsibility of rethinking what a map could/should be in the age of smart phones. Freed from the constraints of traditional wayfinding and inspired by the meandering maps of the Situationists from the 1950’s, I designed a map that prioritizes experience over literal navigation.

The result is a blend of environmental engagement and experimental design. It encourages the user to get lost, if only to find something they didn’t know they were looking for.
